WASTE WATER TREATMENT
Wastewater treatment is the mechanisms and processes used to treat water that has been contaminated in some way by industrial or commercial activities prior to its release into the environment.
There are various methods available to effectively treat wastewater, and the common process treatment are through physical, biological, chemical and sludge treatment.
- Physical: Include sedimentation, aeration and filtration. Sand filters are sometimes used in oil-water separation process to remove oil and grease particles.
- Biological: Aerobic treatment and fermentation are example of biological method, which are usually applied when the water will be used for drinking purposes.
- Chemical: Chlorine is one of the most commonly used in treating sewage and other types of wastewater known as chlorination, known as the most effective means of destroying a variety of viruses and bacteria.
